Our Mission

We believe massage is more than a moment of relief, it's an invitation to experience feeling safe in your body vs. living from the neck up.  We blend fascia, nervous system, and lymphatic expertise with education that empowers our clients long after the session ends.  Our mission is to align hands-on work with self-care tools, empowering those navigating chronic pain, chronic illness, and healing journeys to carry this healing beyond the table.

What Each Session Entails

Lymphatics

Restoration Of Flow

The lymphatic system helps maintain our body’s ecosystem- it’s a part of your immune system that protects you from disease and infection. Just like arteries carry our blood, lymphatic vessels carry lymph fluid but, unlike the heart, the system has no large pump to push the fluid around. When this healing river slows, pain, swelling, fatigue and inflammation levels begin to rise. By restoring flow, we help the body clear waste, reduce inflammation (and therefore pain), and support immunity, digestion, and vitality. The lymph is where healing begins, and everything else follows its current. Lymphatic drainage (LD) should never be painful, and we use Vodder Method inspired techniques, adapted to your tissue’s unique needs.

Fascia

Promoting Slide + Glide

Fascia is the connective “fabric” of our body. It separates, weaves through, and binds together every physical structure within us. It offers very little “stretch”, and rather “expands and spirals” from the inside out. When restricted, this highly communicative tissue can slow our blood and lymph flow, and nerves struggle to move freely, amplifying pain signals. By restoring your fascia’s natural slide and glide, we can free up pathways for better drainage, increase our mind + body communication, and reduce our overall symptoms. You will notice a sense of lightness and ease after your session, as if your body has more space inside. This is because it does.

The "Heart" Of Our Lymphatics

Your diaphragm is the closest thing to a pump the body has for promoting lymphatic flow in the deepest and farthest regions of the body. Our sedentary culture has us hunched over a computer or cellphone for hours which tilts our ribcage forward and down, changing the mechanisms for each of the 20,000 daily breaths we take. This subtle tension transfers into the pelvic floor, and can be felt throughout the rest of the body. Within every lymphatic session here at Align, we release restrictions in the diaphragm and ribcage using gentle myofascial techniques. If needed, we teach breathwork basics right there on the table to keep the heart of your lymphatics pumping optimally. Better breathing means better lymph movement, and often less tension and anxiety, too.

Visceral Organs

Mobilizing What's Stuck

The largest lymphatic structures run right through the abdomen, but most people have never had therapeutic touch there. We gently mobilize the fascia that anchors the visceral organs in their rightful place, and work with the liver, gallbladder, reproductive organs, and colon to improve circulation, detoxification, and digestion. Many of us hold patterns of tension in the belly, as our nervous system braces us for an impact that never comes. As women, we’re told that our body should look a certain way, and we intuitively “suck in” these organs. With curiosity and compassion, we’re here to help you unravel this tension to increase flow to and from your pelvis and lower body.

The "Deeper" Work

Healing can’t happen in a body that feels stuck in a nervous system state that doesn’t feel safe. If you feel like you’re always living from the neck up, or are unable to slow down and be present in the moment, or your physical body, we see you. We use a Bottom-Up approach (sensation, movement, breath, touch) to create an environment where your body feels safe enough to shift out of this defense to help resolve old stress patterns for good. Our sessions move sllooowly, and are rooted in choice and communication. We honor each person’s pace, history, and choices, knowing that each body has its own wisdom for healing.
